Based near Winchester, Ben brings his considerable expertise in the machinery and engineering world to 4130 Contracting.
After a life at sea, Chief Engineer Ben Tiratsoo returned to his roots on shore where he specialises in agricultural contracting, agricultural vehicle servicing and repair, and paddock maintenance.
Ben has always loved everything that travels on wheels and waves, initially training at a sailing Academy on the Isle of Wight and then a mechanical apprenticeship with Mercedes-Benz, winning apprentice of the year back in 2004.
Over the years he has tinkered with them all: from Harley Davidson's to Land Rovers, steam traction engines to AEC Matador trucks, there’s not a lot that Ben hasn’t owned or helped to maintain. He’s now the proud owner of a Case 110 Maxxum tractor and regularly maintains similar agricultural vehicles.
Through his wife, Sarah, a keen horsewoman, he has added a love of things on four hooves to the list, turning his hand to maintaining land, paddocks and stable yards. When he isn’t working, you’ll find Ben surfing, riding his BMX or tinkering with his vintage Land Rover.
